[comp.emacs] gdb+ in emacs

rpj@redcloud.UUCP (Rich Johns) (01/07/89)

Sorry, this is a repeat. The first iteration left out environment info.

Environment
___________

emacs 18.52
gdb+ 2.8.1
running X-emacs under X10R4

I am trying to run gdb+ from emacs, ie., M-x gdb. I have gdb.el, it
contains the c++ stuff, it is byte compiled and loaded etc. However,
when I start up I get the following message:

  "wrong type argument: processp, nil"

It then proceeds to display the gdb banner and load the symbol table.
As I move through the code, ie., breakpoints, step, whatever, the
source never gets displayed, nor does, the arrow showing the current
line. I can still use the debugger, but I am hopelessly dependent on
the list command. Anybody have any ideas as to what is going on here?
