[comp.emacs] MicroEmacs3.9 or higher -- System V

pa1343@sdcc15.ucsd.edu (pa1343) (02/01/89)

I have recently tried to compile emacs on a 3b20 using SysV.1
and could not link because of termcap usage in the source.
Is there a version or diffs for a version which uses TERMINFO???
OR.... is there some set of routines somewhere which can simulate
the termcap routines sufficiently to run emacs?

Thanks in advance

I have MicroEmacs running under AIX 2.2 just fine. If you're not
familiar with it, AIX is based on Sys V Rel 2. I simply modified
the makefile and removed -ltermcap and -ltermlib and used -lcurses.
The curses library in AIX has any of the termlib/termcap routines that
Microemacs calls. I don't know if this is the case with straight SysV.1,
but it is worth a try.
