Can I have two seperate display windows ( not buffers) from the same GNU emacs process under X? A search through interactive x-functions reveals something like x-change-display, or x-new-display seem to fit my need but both require closing of the current display. Any pointer will be appreciated. -- -- Chin-Ming Kuo cmkuo@cs.utexas.edu cs.utexas.edu!cmkuo

That's rumored to be a feature of GNU Emacs version 19. Unipress has
multiple windows now for NeWS and perhaps for X. Once the hooks are in
version 19, similar multi-window support for other window systems
should follow soon.
