[comp.emacs] generate.el

tale@pawl.rpi.edu (David C Lawrence) (02/25/89)

Regarding the recent discussion of expanding keyboard macros, this
just arrived for me. It does an adequate job of building a skeleton,
but not much more. Multiple lines of the same command are often not
consolidated and it (of course) doesn't do `let's or `save-excursion's
by itself, but the basics are there. Hopefully some people will find
it useful and perhaps improve on it. (Note also that the address
provided in the Lisp Code Directory for Ciaran is no longer valid.)

(Actually, a lot can be improve just by adding some names to some of
the lists in the code. The let and save-excursion, et al, deficiencies
will still be there.)

Dave

Hi Dave

You are in luck, here it is (untested but probably working)

By the way, if you post to the net could you point out that
the E-mail address for Ciaran is no longer useful.

I haven't tracked him down since before Xmas!

Use and enjoy!
