GNU Emacs 18.52.26 of Mon Mar 6 1989 on leo.ring.cs.yale.edu (Domain/OS) Is there any way to get file name completions sorted by modification time instead of alphabetically? I couldn't dig up anything using 'apropos' or 'info'. For example, during a find-file (C-x C-f) it would be nice to be able to use the '?' or some other key show you the list of possible completions, either most recently modified first (e.g., if you're looking for a file in someone else's directory that you know has been worked on recently) or least recently modified first (e.g., if you're looking for a file you haven't touched in so long that you've forgotten its exact name). Other examples come to mind, but I think you get the idea. Thanks, -- Ashwin. ARPA: Ram-Ashwin@cs.yale.edu UUCP: {decvax,ucbvax,harvard,cmcl2,...}!yale!Ram-Ashwin BITNET: Ram@yalecs
