I'm making this query on behalf of a friend who's trying desparately to be productive in a System V environment. :-) He's got emacs on one machine, but frequently has to edit files on other systems. Lacking job control :-(, he'd like to be able to run vi from inside emacs. He's tried terminal-emulator, but says vi can't handle the non-vt100 emacs buffer. Any help would be appreciated. Neither of us knows much about System V. -Dave (dsill@relay.nswc.mavy.mil)

Is it possible that ftp-find-file would be helpful here? Can he ftp
to those machines? (I suppose so, if he has already connected to them
from within Emacs.) When you save an ftp-found file it writes it back
the sam way it got it. Or is there more to the problem than this?
