Here is an updated version of hexl.el that I posted a little while back. It is much faster, as it uses C code to hexlify and dehexlify buffers, has some bugs fixed and it has some new features. My suggestion: Unpack this code (hexl.c and hexl.el). Compile hexl.c and place it in emacs's `etc' directory. Place hexl.el in emacs's lisp directory and compile it.
