[comp.emacs] GNU Emacs under Xenix

nick@qtnet.UUCP (Nick Lawes) (06/19/89)

Hi all..

I'm sorry if this is a common message, but I haven't read news on emacs
for several years, since I moved away from a BSD Vax :-)

Having just stumbled over the source for GNU emacs version 18.41, I set
about compiling it under SCO Xenix System V 386 2.3.2. After much fiddling
I have got it working, but am unable to get the image to dump. Unexec
starts to work, but just keeps on going until the file system is full!

I wonder if some kind soul could help me with a solution or pointers...

I suppose that newer versions of Emacs may already include code for 386 and
Xenix...

Just a couple of other quick questions:-

  - What is the current version, by the way??

  - Is it worth while getting hold of it??

  - Is there a UK site that I can get a Cartridge tape of the latest GNU stuff
    from ??

Thanks in advance...
