Greeting GNUrus- I recently ftp'ed emacs 18.55 from Ohio State and encountered a puzzling problem during the build on a Sun 3/260 running OS 3.5. The program `temacs' builds without any errors but then complains that the `TERM' environment variable is not set. However, a `printenv' executed immediately after the make terminates appears to indicate that the variable *is* set. Does anybody know what's going on here? The text of the error message and partial output from printenv is shown below. Thanks, Chris Esposito ./temacs -batch -l inc-vers Please set the environment variable TERM; see tset(1). *** Error code 1 Stop. *** Error code 1 Stop. *** Error code 1 Stop. pierce_dist-18.55 [263] printenv HOME=/usr/pierce0/chrise SHELL=/usr/pierce0/chrise/bin/tcsh TERM=sun [ other environment variables not shown ] -- Chris Esposito | CSNET: chrise@atc.boeing.com Boeing Advanced Technology Center | uucp: ...!uw-june!bcsaic!chrise
