Back in June I nabbed a copy of VM (4.11) off the net. Today I tried to install it. What I saw looks terrific. But... Has there been a new release since then? Because I ran across several bugs in just a short time playing with it. E.g., => typing 'h' for a summary of headers appears to screw up something internally because most commands don't work after that. => doing (something) resulted in an emacs-error about the variable 'defautl-directory': a spelling error in a variable name. The VM mode looks really neat (like RMAIL did before I learned what I didn't like about it) but I can't risk losing my mail with something so unstable. If anybody has accumulated a list of changes since 4.11 I'd appreciate seeing them. (Please don't tell me about 'ftp'-ing them from somewhere unless you're willing to tutor a complete moron in that whole ftp-thing.) Thanks in advance, -- S. The failure of `h' (vm-summarize) is the most visible indication of trouble, but there are other more subtle problems. > => doing (something) resulted in an emacs-error about the > variable 'defautl-directory': a spelling error in a > variable name. This sounds more like VM 4.10 than 4.11. "(something)" was probably `s' (vm-save-message). The typo was missed because it only causes trouble if vm-folder-directory is nil, and I can't think of anyone who doesn't use a folder directory. In any case the latest version of VM is 4.41.
