[comp.emacs] Obtaining NEmacs

aglew@urbana.mcd.mot.com (Andy-Krazy-Glew) (09/19/89)

I have heard about NEmacs, Nihongo-Emacs, a Japanese-language version
of GNU Emacs.

Is NEmacs freely redistributable (I suppose that it must be copyleft).
Where can NEmacs be obtained from? Tape, or anonymous ftp? What is
required to run NEmacs - is it conceivable that it might run on
vanilla System V which already runs GNU, does it require international
character support, special hacks Japanese language support, X windows,
special fints for X, or what?

I am trying to learn Japanese (as a spare-time activity). Being able to edit
in Japanese has obvious advantages.

[At this point I should say something in Japanese, but I beg pardon of
the reader - I am not yet that brave].
