Our system powers-that-be have decreed that the only emacs style editor supported on our UNIX machines will be JOVE (Version 4.9). While I have nothing against JOVE, there are a couple of functions I would like that it does not seem to have. Can anyone help me with the appropriate scripts to put in my .joverc file. 1) When using a previous version of JOVE (version unknown), I could edit a file that did not have write permission. When I tried to save it, JOVE gave me a message saying the file was read only, but did I want to write over it anyway. If I answered "yes", it did so. I found this very convienient because I like to keep the write permission turned off on certain important files, like my calendar, to prevent accidental erasure. ( I did that once.) But some of these files need to be updated frequently, so this feature would be nice. 2) I would like to be able to right justify text. We had an old version of gemacs that did that, but its gone now. Any help would be appreciated. lreastma@apgea.army.mil
