I've been using telnet to login on Suns and I run emacs on the suns. In emacs the "^f" key is the forward character key, if I hit "^f" several times, the cursor takes a long long time to catchup. A lot of you would say emacs run slower than vi but the strange thing is hitting "^b" for backward character is actually quite fast. This seems very strange to me, I mean if emacs is generally slower then vi then you would expect "^b" to be as slow as "^f". Are there any variables that I can set in emacs that will solve this problem ? -- Anthony Lee (Humble PhD student) (Alias Time Lord Doctor) ACSnet: anthony@batserver.cs.uq.oz TEL:+(61)-7-371-2651 Internet: anthony@batserver.cs.uq.oz.au +(61)-7-377-4139 (w) SNAIL: Dept Comp.
