[comp.emacs] Help needed defining C-<arrowkey> sequence

I knew GNU Emacs was very well written but this one really surprised
me. (Of course, if you realize that any valid key code expression
may be embedded within a string and it will evaluate to an actual
key code, then it's not so surprising, i.e. (length "\C-\e")
=> 1  and (aref "\C-\e" 0) => 27.

People are always telling me that Emacs does this wrong or that wrong
when they really should only be saying that their preference is not the
default one within GNU Emacs. I've yet to find anything wrong after a
number of years of usage, just some things that I had to customize to my
own preferences.

As Spike Lee says, "Do the Right Thing." Sign up for GNU Emacs usage
now.
