[comp.emacs] Installing on a GOULD 9050

zhb2165@DSACHG1.DSAC.DLA.MIL (Ned D Hanks) (04/13/90)

First, I would like to say thanks to all the responses from my last
message on installing emacs. I did get the lattest version from
uunet and it was a bad download, the file size was wrong. I
downloaded the files again and they uncompressed and untared ok.

Now on to another problem. The machine I am on is GOULD 9050 with
UTX/32 2.1A. It has System V extentions and writes it a.out files
using COFF format but it is really a BSD machine. When I try to
compile as a bsd4.3 it cannot find the files filehdr.h, aouthdr.h,
scnhdr.h and syms.h. And I get all sorts of errors if I try to
compile it as System V.

Can somebody give me some pointers?

Thanks
