I'm running into a problem running GnuEMACS. My system administrator has complained, on a few occasions, that it uses too much of the system's resources. On one of our machines, where performance is especially critical, he has even disabled the command! So I'm left puttering around in VI, trying to remember the names of directories without completions.... It's hard for me to argue with him because I honestly don't know if I am using lots of machine resources. Here's what I routinely do in a GnuEMACS session: 1-2 Telnet Buffers 1 Shell Buffer...my main shell for doing stuff 1 GNUS Session, mostly just sitting there ~50 Files by the time I'm in the middle of things 1 TAGS type session with lots of C files 1 RMAIL *xmail* from time-to-time ftp-find-file, ftp-write-file to a few machines I display the time and system load on the status line, and we're running Pyramids with the dual port. Here are some columns from a current PS, but I've only logged on recently so it may not show much.
