The principle purpose of the mailing list info-gnu-emacs is for the Free Software Foundation to send messages to all the GNU Emacs users. The reason why the Free Software Foundation is concerned about a law pertaining to auto parts is that it is part of the general climate in which there is pressure for new monopolies. Two other new monopolies, user interface copyright and software patents, endanger the future development of free software. Raising public pressure to defeat any new monopoly will help us defeat those.
