A user was having trouble making the keyboard work properly on emacs. He was accessing iona(a DEC3100) via telnet. 'setenv TERM vt100' certainly helped, but some keyboard combinations still didn't work. This problem seems to be an emacs constant: the other day another user who has a VT100 at home was told to make several changes to the regular vt100 settings to make emacs work. Do you know what are the terminal settings and related parameters to watch out for when using emacs (particularly when I don't have a real but a virtual terminal)? Can we put them in a shell script? This is kind of a reposting. Does ANYONE know what is going on hear? Does 18.54 have major problems over a network, rlogin, telnet, or just a modem? john travis jstravis@athena.mit.edu
