CAMPBELL@DUCVAX.AUBURN.EDU ("Ernest M. Campbell III") (07/13/90)
I have been wanting to be able to alter and customize some of the features of emacs, and I know that the .emacs file is the easiest way to do this (or, so I assume). However, I have been unable to find sufficient info on just what can/can't go into this file or how to write functions to go into the file. I'm not a lisp programmer, but I can pick up some basics if someone can point me in the right direction. For example, what is the proper way to perform a global-set-key from the .emacs file? Also, can someone point me to a good ftp site for .el files that might be useful? =============================================================================== Ernest M.
