[comp.emacs] Emacs, Shell and '^M' SOLVED

ralph@laas.fr (Ralph P. Sobek) (07/24/90)

According to the GNU Emacs Manual (and possibly in the source of
shell.el) you nned to create the following file (depending upon shell
used):

~/.emacs_csh

which for my SS1 contains the line:

stty -onlcr

which I believe is better than stty nl -echo! The only problem with
this is that this file also has to be sourced when doing an rlogin.

Cheers,
