Dear folks
I have a problem running emacs under Xwindows. I login on a given host (as the
user "ae") and use emacs, and it works fine. Then I open another window under
X11R4 using:
(These are the lines in my .twmrc)
menu "Hosts"
{
"Vap" !"xterm -sb -vb -bd skyblue1 -T Vap -fn 12x24 -e rlogin `hostname` -l vap &"
}
If I try to use emacs in this new window I get the message
TERMINAL DOES NOT UNDERSTAND X-PROTOCOL
This is a real pain since I have to login as the user "vap" on another machine before
I can use emacs. The user vap has identical .emacs, .twmrc, .xinitrc files to mine.
The only difference is in the .cshrc, but this is trivial. Everything works fine
under suntools. Any suggestions, fixes etc. would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.
yours sincerely
