rms@AI.MIT.EDU (08/08/90)
A couple of weeks ago the League for Programming Freedom's bank gave out incorrect information about fees for cashing foreign checks. And the League has been distributing a membership with corresponding misinformation. If you are outside the US and want to join the League, please send the League a check in US currency, drawn on a bank with appropriate connections to the US, to save the League a $15 check cashing fee. If you have posted the League membership form for copying, **either inside or outside the US**, then please replace it with the corrected form. Get the current version from /u/emacs/lpf/lpf.join by anonymous ftp from prep.ai.mit.edu, or ask league@prep.ai.mit.edu to send you one. Likewise if you have sent copies to people outside the US or who might redistribute it. The League position papers have been improved considerably recently. If you are redistributing look-and-feel.texinfo or patents.texinfo, please get the new version by ftp or by asking league@prep.
