I am having a problem running Emacs from a shell script. I am running Version 18.55 on a Compaq 386 running XENIX, However I have also had the problem on a Sequent. Intermittently, when a user hits C-xC-c to exit emacs, the entire shell script is interrupted and the user is left looking at a unix prompt. The problem occurs randomly, and seems to occur more often when more things have been done in the emacs session.
