Hi! I need help !!! My emacs is acting really weird today. I edited a file (previously extracted from a tar file and then transfered to my home directory), saved it, suspended emacs, and guess what, when I did a list of the home directory, the file WAS NOT THERE. Not even the original copy. I tried to save it again but of course I got the message that the file was already saved (where ??) It seems that only the `write to' command will save the file. I tried editing with vi and it works ok so I suspect emacs to be the problem and not the disk. Also it seems that only this file has this strange behavior of vanishing without any trace. I edited other files in my home directory (this one too) and everything is fine. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? Please reply by mail as I'm not a frequent reader of this newsgroup. Thanks in advance.
