When I try to run RMAIL in EMacs on my system (UC Berkeley's WEB), I can't load my new mail. My mail is kept in the directory "/usr/spool/mail/". When RMAIL tries to load the mail, the minibuffer shows the message, 'movemail: Permission denied for temporary file "/usr/spool/mail/Ea00872" '. Clearly, RMAIL is trying to write its tempfiles in the directory that has my mail spool, which is a directory in which I am not priveleged to write. How can I adjust Emacs so that it will write its temporary files in my home directory? Alternately, how can I instruct Emacs to read my mail files from a different location? (I can just copy my mail spool to my home directory each time, then have Emacs run RMAIL on the new file, if I can tell it how to load my new mail from that location.) Thanks very much. --Andrew Solovay
