I'm currently using GNU Emacs 18.55 with X linked in (GNU XEmacs???) on DEC/Ultrix workstations and an HP 300/Unix, and have written quite a few lisp functions for it. I'm now at the point where I need more access to X via lisp than what 18.55 currently provides me. Is there another release of GNU Emacs coming out soon which has greater X functionality? Also, I need information on Epoch. How is it different than GNU Emacs 18.55? Does Epoch do reverse video, for example? How about different colors for different buffers, or different sections of text? Is it public domain like GNU? Who/How can I get it from? Questions, questions, questions. If someone could send me some information to at least get me started, I'd really appreciate it.
