I Compiled gnuemacs-18.55 to run on Sun3/60s running SunOS 4.0.3_EXPORT to run under X Windows. I used the HAVE_X_MENUS option and it compiled OK. When I try to use the menus (Ctrl-Shift-mouse-button) I get an Unknown XMenu error message in the minibuffer and the whole program hangs. I can't C-x C-c out of it. I have to kill it from the window manager (twm). Can anybody give me pointers as to what is wrong? Mark Ferraretto mferrare@physics.adelaide.edu.au

Let me guess: you used gcc?? You're running X11R4?? I had the same bug
when I compiled 18.55 under R4 with gcc. The fix was to compile the whole
thing with Sun's cc. I have been using 18.55 *with* the oldXMenu for 8
months on Sun 3's and 4's. We also use 4.0.3_EXPORT as well.
Hope this helps.
