[comp.emacs] find-file-noselect directory stack

ooms@delgeo.UUCP (ir. Frank P.J. Ooms) (10/01/90)

Does anyone know of a way to have emacs search a stack of directories
when it tries to open a new file. I thought it might be possible
through find-file-not-found-hooks, but before diving into the
mechanism it seemed wise to ask you guys if anyone has tried this.
If you have, and are willing to share yout experience with me, well
don't hesitate, let me know!

Second Question:
How does one pass an argument from the command line to a lisp
	function?

The manual states that this is not possible, but maybe there is an
undocumented way to do it?

I'm running GNU-emacs 18.51.0 on a convex.

Thanks.
