I am attempting to get emacs 18.55 running on an AT&T 6396 running System V, version 3.2. So far, it fails to compile based on lack of a definition for a struct called "tchars". I do not seem to be able to find a machine definition which matches the actual hardware. Should I be using the Intel-386 definition, or should I be using the AT&T 3B2 definition (since the hardware is sold with the AT&T label on it and the OS is the same version as we are also running on our 3B2s (obviously not the same hardware)). Does anyone have suggestions or comments? Is there a version for the 6386 running System V from AT&T? Am I using the wrong hardware choice for the machine file?
