* Note that John Bruner of LLNL recently posted UW, a upto seven window terminal emulator for the Macintosh. More than an emulator, this set of software allows you to open upto seven windows, each an independant login session, to your favorite 4.2BSD machine. The windows can each emulate any of a VT52, ADM31 or TEK 4010. And all this is done over the RS-232 port on the back of the Mac. Now crowding seven windows into the tiny Mac screen is rather much, but it actually works out quite well. You can use the Cut and Paste mouse commands between windows. The 4010 emulation implements the graphics you display as MacPaint images. So here is the first of the multi-windowing software for a cheap standalone PC. And, yes, you can play your favorite game when the Vax is down. ~$1600(mac) !>> $500(dumb terminal) ~$1600(mac) <<<< $30,000(sun) -------- * posted to net.sources.mac; his address is mordor!jdb Macintosh is a Trademark of McIntosh Laboratories, licensed to Apple Computer. -- ---------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- | Michael Mc Namara | Let the words by yours, I'm done with mine. | dual!vecpyr!tflop!mac | May your life proceed by its own design. ---------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
