I'm looking for some beta testers for my new version of Dired, which will perhaps go into the next Emacs release. Features are: marking of files for later commands (nearly all dired commands work on lists of marked files), shell commands on files, tree dired (ls -lR output and insertion of subdirectories in situ), diffing files, sorting on name or date, copy/move into directories, spaces in filenames allowed, and many little enhancements/fixes. It also works much better with ange-ftp. I'm running SunOS 4.1 most of the time myself, and would like to have beta testers for SysV, Ultrix, HP-UX,... and perhaps VMS. You should use Emacs and Dired heavily and be willing to report bugs, comments, suggestions to me: Sebastian Kremer <sk@thp.Uni-Koeln.DE> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sebastian Kremer <sk@thp.Uni-Koeln.DE> Institute of Theoretical Physics, University of Cologne, F. The response was overwhelming. Thanks to all who have replied! Please don't send me any more requests for beta testing. Thanks. -- Sebastian Kremer <sk@thp.Uni-Koeln.DE> Institute of Theoretical Physics, University of Cologne, F. R. of Germany
