Crypt already handles the case of automatically decompressing and recompressing a file upon visit. This little feature (posted by Jamie Zawinski) will help for the case of file insertion. I don't know how compatible they are. Now, what I would like to see is something similar for write-file or append-to-file when "foo" does not exist but "foo.Z" does! Has anyone done this? -- Ralph P.
