I read a note somewhere about a year ago where some student from La Jolla had put together a summary of emacs commands and would be distributing them. He never replied to my later note as to what happened. Is there some summary that would be useful? I often have trouble finding or remembering them (e.g. the ruler in FORTRAN) and such would be very helpful. Also, I don't really understand the "lisp" type nomenclature. Is there some literature on this that would make it all clear and obvious? (My training extends back to 1950 when we had to wire boards to get a*b=c) That is, nothing expansive but the essentials which might be ingested quickly.

In your GNU Emacs source area, see etc/refcard.tex. It's a good thing
to have lying in the desk drawer. If you don't have TeX and would
rather not install it just to print a few pages of reference card,
cards can be ordered from the FSF either alone or with an accompanying
GNU Emacs reference manual.
