Does anybody know if there's an official limit for the minimum size of an LP? I have noticed that the B-52's "Party Mix" is called a mini-album, since it has fewer songs and less time than most albums. When is a record a "single" or a "maxi-single" or an EP or an LP? David

EP means "extended play" and refers to 45's that had more than one cut per side. LP (long play) refers to 33 1/3 discs.

That may have been true long ago, but that can't be true now. Example : I have quite a few 12" records with only 3 or 4 songs and are 33 1/3. I have also had 7" 33 1/3's. I even had a 5" record that played at this speed, and one that was 33 on one side and 45 on the other. Speed just doesn't seem to play a part anymore. David
