The soundtrack for Koyaanisqatsi (recently reviewed very favourably in net.movies) was composed by Philip Glass, an "avant-garde" composer with similarities to Steve Reich and Brian Eno (which is not to imply that all their music is very much alike, it's not). Whatever one thinks about their music as foreground listening material (I like it), they do write some excellent soundtracks, so I very much look forward to seeing the film.
