There is a bug in the ftype() function in bs(1). Ftype() is supposed to return a character indicating the file type of the file named in the first argument. Ftype() returns a "d" for block-special files, when it is supposed to return a "b"; "d" indicates a directory. This has been tested (and failed) on V.2 on 286 (MicroPort), NCR Tower (Unisys 5000/50), and the Tahoe System V environment (i.e. Unisys 7000/40). If this has been noted before, I apologize for the redundancy. Wes Peters -- {hpda, uwmcsd1}!sp7040!obie!wes "How do you make the boat go when there's no wind?" -- Me --
