I should have made myself clearer, I guess. Yes, the original "EP" was for multi-track 45's. If I remember correctly, Columbia may have started that (although RCA invented the 45). I think Columbia also used the "LP" on their 33 1/3 discs. As David said, the "system" got bastardized. At one time or other all speeds have been used on all size discs. Like I said some time back, They even made discs with inside start (frustrating if you put one on a changer). The old Edison discs that were about 1/4 inch thick were "microgroove" and had vertically modulated grooves to increase playing time. Bob, mgweed!rjr
