[net.records] 1 track

Persons who might buy the "Super 12 inch single" of Peter Schilling's
"Major Tom" should be aware of what they're getting for their $4.
Side 1, Track 1: Major Tom, English version
a nice enough pop song, with one good hook and evocative lyrics which
expand on Bowie's Major Tom story
Side 1, Track 2: Major Tom, German version
hmm. The German's interesting to listen to, but the music is identical.
And, for some reason, the German doesn't sound as sonically interesting
as when Peter Gabriel sings in German. Oh well.
Side 2, Track 1: Major Tom, extended English version
"Extended"?? Yes, it's longer, and some whooshing effects have been added.
But that's all. Must have taken all of half an hour to produce. I'm
  beginning to get annoyed.
Side 2, Track 2: Major Tom, instrumental version
Where the lyrics were there is now choral singing. The whooshing effects
are still here. Very close to the previous track. I'm now in awe of the
gaul of the artist and/or the record company.

I suggest anyone who wishes to buy this should pay for it with the same
dollar bill, 4 times. Maybe add 25 cents for the German lyrics and 5 cents
for the whooshing.

Now why can't we have marketing people like those in England that gave away
a free videocassette of the video for a song with every copy of the single?

By the way, this is a 33 1/3 rpm, 4 track, "single" for the price of an EP.

I beg to differ. I was willing to pay that much for the extended version
alone, which I feel is *much* better than the short. But moot point.

Query: Has anyone anything to say about the album itself (Error in the System)?
