We have always had a problem with rlogin to 4.3BSD: everything works OK when
the 4.3BSD system is newly booted. However as time passes we begin to notice
that the windowsizes are not updated and that ^S/^Q stops working in emacs.
This only happens when we rlogin to 4.3BSD, there is never any problem with
rlogin to Sun (SunOS 3.3). Also, there is never any problem with logins via
serial connection to 4.3BSD.
We have installed the patch from rutgers:
Subject: various bugs in 4.x (4.3?) TCP code
Message-ID: <13996@topaz.rutgers.edu>
Date: Sun, 16-Aug-87 08:05:14 GMT
but it does not seem to help. (BTW: The code in the patch for uipc_socket.c
refers to a variable called 'eor'. This variable is not present in our
sources.)
(We are actually running MtXinu, but this problem is present in straight
4.3BSD to.)
I never hear anyone complaining about this so I wonder: is it just us? Has
everyone else managed to fix this problem?
