I'm compiling a bibliography on NON-automated KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING techniques for building expert systems, i.e., how the human knowledge engineer goes about (1) extracting knowledge from the domain expert and (2) writing it into the knowledge representation system. So far I have the following references: Hayes-Roth, Waterman, and Lenat, BUILDING EXPERT SYSTEMS, chapter 5; Waterman, A GUIDE TO EXPERT SYSTEMS, chapters 14 & 18; and Buchanan and Shortliffe, RULE-BASED EXPERT SYSTEMS, Part 3. Can anyone add any articles, books, or chapters from books to the list? I'm trying to focus on basics, so arcane theoretical pieces would not be as helpful as more practical "how to" pieces. All help will be appreciated, and I'll post a compilation of references when the e-mail stops coming in.
