   The Rutgers University Laboratory for Computer Science Research is
pleased to announce an opening for the position of Programmer I on the
AI/VLSI Design project, otherwise known as the VEXED project.

   This project offers an exciting and varied working environment at a
major center of AI research.  The working environment is informal and
pleasant; the salary is competitive.

   The successful applicant will have at least a bachelor's degree in
computer science or a related field, a working knowledge of the LISP
programming language, and familiarity with the UNIX operating system.
Other desirable qualifications include: a master's degree in computer
science; experience in Interlisp, Common LISP, and/or translation
between these dialects; knowledge of artificial intelligence research
and techniques, VLSI circuit design, network software maintenance,
ethernets, TCP/IP, computer graphics, computer aided design, and
Prolog.  He or she will report to the Principle Investigator of the
project, and will work with other faculty, staff, and graduate
students on the design, coding, and maintenance of VEXED and other
large research programs in LISP and other languages, and participate

Campus of Rutgers University, in Piscataway, New Jersey, an easy drive
