A collegue of mine is addressing the clinical and research applications of antibiotic databases. He is interested in the present state of the art (commercial or otherwise) with respect to intelligent, rule based assistance that these database may bring along in a clinically applied context. He is aware of the MYCIN efforts of a decade ago, but wonders if this or similar products are available for installation at other sites. Desirable qualities include an ability to edit the rules (knowledge aquisition I think you folks call it). Any pointers or other educating comments (we're obviously not ai types) would be greatly appreciated.
