Ninth Conference on Foundations of Software Technology & Theoretical Computer Science Bangalore, INDIA, Dec 19-21, 1989 Original research results in Theoretical aspects of Computer Science and Theoretical Foundations of Software Technology. Authors are invited to submit papers in the following areas: Theory of computation Automata & formal languages Algorithms and complexity Formal semantics, specifications, and proof theory Database theory Mathematical aspects of programming languages Functional and logic programming Programming methodology Distributed computing Software technology Papers should be atmost 20 pages long (5000 words). The covering letter should indicate the address (and author, in case of multiple authors) for all further correspondence. The names of the authors and their affiliation should only appear on the cover page of the paper. It should be possible to remove this page and send the papers to reviewers to facilitate blind refereeing. Please also give the CR classification numbers on the cover page. When citing papers submitted elsewhere, but not published at the time of submission to this conference, the similarities, and more importantly the differences between such works must be clearly brought out.
