from the scruffies to the neats, and from the connectionists to the symbolists, along a great and widening divide, two new species of thinking critters are evolving. One wonders whether they (the neural-net-critters and the symbol-crunching-critters) will be as adept at MISunderstanding each other as are their human progenitors.
