[comp.ai] Robots

Howdy!

I'm looking for sources describing the evolution of robots,
preferably from the beginning computers on little rollers to
some of the more complex robots in research and industry.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Although it is more a book of philosophy than history, you may enjoy
reading Norbert Wiener's _God and Golem, Inc._, in which the founder
of Cybernetics reflects on the relationship of man to robot.
