mmata@uvicctr.UVic.ca.UUCP (mmata) (05/24/89)

I am looking for references to research/prototypes/products involving expert
systems and decision support systems in emergency response management.

I will post a summary if there is sufficient response.
Thanks,

At the Conference On Innovative Applications of A.I. held at Stanford
from 3/28-30, a couple of papers presented would probaably interest you.

1. A Knowledge Based Emergency Control Advisory System for the Australian
Coal Industry by J. Aubrey and Z. Nemes-Nemeth

2. MannTall - A Rescue Operations Assistant by M. Brooks, S. Carlsen,
& A. Honne.

Publication is available from AAAI, 445 Burgess Drive, Menlo Park, Ca.
USA 94025-3496.

I spoke to John Aubrey (paper #1), who told me that he and Zoltan would
be traveling North America after the conference trying to market the
system and others.
