I have just come across a 1986 paper called "Discovery Systems" by Kenneth Haase of MIT's AI Lab. In it he describes work done on building Cyrano, a "thoughtful re-implementation" of Lenat's Eurisko. Can anyone refer me to reports of progress since 1986 or of other work in this area? Thanks. -- Russ Abbott

Last week I asked for up-to-date information on Cyrano, "a thoughtful re-implementation of Eurisko" by Kenneth Haase. So far, a number of people have expressed interest in anything I found out, and others have asked for the complete reference of the work I cited, but no one has come up with a newer reference. For those who are interested, the complete reference is: Haase, Kenneth, W. Jr. "Discovery Systems", Proc. Seventh European Conference on AI, ECAI-86: Advances in AI--II (du Boulay, Hogg, and Steels eds.), Elsevier (North-Holland), 1987, pp 111-120. -- (Russ) Abbott@aerospace.aero.org
