The Artificial and Vision research group, Computing Science Center,
University of Geneva, has an opening for one full-time
"MAITRE-ASSISTANT" (POST-DOC).
If you feel motivated by research in artificial intelligence, if you wish
to integrate yourself and take responsibilities in a dynamic team, if
you are open-minded and have interests in multidisciplinary research, this
position might interest you!
Required: doctoral degree in computer science (artificial intelligence).
Starting date: as soon as possible.
Salary: according to the State of Geneva scale, SFr 5'430 per month,
SFr 65'163 per annum (1 US$ = 1.60 ... 1.80 SFr).
Duties: - to participate to and lead research activities in artificial
intelligence. Current domains of interest of the group:
- knowledge representation (in relation also with the computer
vision component of the group)
- reasoning processes
- multi-agents systems
- neural and symbolic systems
- to supervise diploma and doctoral students
- to organize seminars in relation with your domain of interest.
Working language: french, english can be considered for a start.
The Computing Science Center comprises approximately 60 members, amongst
which approximately 12 faculty. It has excellent computing facilities:
Sun (3/50, 3/60, 3/80, 3/110, 3/160, 3/180, 3/280, 4/60, 4/260), SG Iris,
Apple (Mac SE, Mac II), HP 3900, PCs, acces to VAX 8700, 8800, IBM 3090/180VF.
Specialized equipments: video and hi-res digitizing camera, screen hardcopy.
