I'm looking for any and all information about the use of expert systems to assist in production scheduling (aka job-shop scheduling, production planning, etc.). The only system I'm currently aware of that uses any AI methodology is one put out by Chesapeake Software. I believe it's called MIMI, and consists of a number of modules, including one that covers production scheduling, that use a generalized inference engine to provide recommendations. I may be mistaken on the particulars, as I haven't yet received literature from the company. Does anybody out there have _any_ experience using ES when attempting to solve this class of problems? Any help would be *deeply* appreciated. If anyone else (besides Lisa at Harvard) would like to share information/ data/ resources about this domain, send me an email, and I'll help where I can. Thanks in advance. Mike Murphy
