[comp.ai] Education Query

I'm interested in "short courses" on the topics of Knowledge Engineering
and Expert System Application Qualification. Does anyone have any
recommendations of live or video courses dealing with these subjects?

(By short I mean up to 5 days. By Knowledge Engineering I mean the generic
process followed by Knowledge Engineers during Expert System application
development. By Application Qualification I mean the process of
determining if a particular application is well-suited for implementation
as an Expert System.)

Thanks in advance.

I haven't taken general knowledge engineering or expert system short
courses so I can't really recommend one. However, I can highly
recommend a few short courses I have taken that dealt with more specific
areas of expert system development (prerequisite: the student should be
familiar with basic concepts of expert systems). These are:

 - Knowledge Acquisition For Expert Systems (3 days)
   Coordinator: John H. Boose, MS.
UCLA, Dept. of Engineering, short course program

 - Analyzing the Reliability and Performance of Expert Systems (3 days)
   Coordinator: Kirstie L. Bellman, PhD.
UCLA, Dept. of Engineering and Science, short course program

 - Knowledge Representation (2 days)
Broadcasted: National Television University, June 1-2, 1989
Presented by: Professor Raoul N. Smith, PhD.
                 College of Computer Science, 219CN
                 Northeastern University
